Join Kelly Lawson Pihl at Yogayama Östermalm on Saturday, April 13th at 11.30AM for a 75-min Flow and Yoga Nidra class to raise awareness and to help fund further research for a life-threatening heart condition called Brugada Syndrome.
Yoga practitioner, Alexandra Wall, had her first cardiac arrest at age 6. It wasn’t until over two decades later that she was diagnosed and received treatment for this serious, yet little known about, heart condition.
It was difficult to receive the diagnosis of Brugada syndrome because there is little awareness about this illness and even less research being done. Recent reports suggest that Brugada syndrome could be responsible for up to 20% of sudden death in patients with structurally normal hearts. As a result of the lack of awareness and research around this disease it is likely much more widespread than we know.
As a yoga community, let’s help to raise awareness and funding for research for Brugada Syndrome by practicing together on April 13th. This donations-based class will be a 50-minute Flow followed by a 20-minute centering Yoga Nidra practice.
All funds will be donated to and split evenly between the Swedish Heart and Lung Foundation (Hjärt och Lungfonden) and the British Heart Foundation. A suggested minimum donation of 200SEK is appreciated.
