Experience the joy of pranayama and deepen your understanding of the different techniques involved.
During this two day pranayama workshop the aim is to refine the skill of each participant, allowing lots of one on one instruction and observation. Sara and Guy will also do pulse reading both days to support the personal practice program for each yogi.
We will explore, through the tool of the physical body, why pranayama is considered to be such a great method for spiritual growth. There will be discussions on the details of practice, with plenty of time for questions. This is a good opportunity to ask anything you have wanted to know about pranayama or to satisfy your curiosity about this profound art.
The workshop is designed for yogis who have been studying pranayama before. If you are new to the practice and still would like to join, we recommend to take a few of the pranayama dropin lunch classes on Tuesdays at 12.00 (Jungfrugatan 8). This will help you understand the basics of the different techniques involved and will give you a good foundation for the weekend workshop.
Teachers
Sara and Guy are two of the most experienced and skilled pranayama teachers in Europe. They have both studied extensively with classical pranayama master Sri O.P Tiwari and have been authorized by him to teach.
Sara was a senior teacher for 10 years at Samahita Retreat under Paul Dallaghan, growing and learning from him. She is now Content Director for the highly regarded Yogayama Teacher Training Program. Guy started his relationship to yoga in an academic setting with a degree in Indian religion and Buddhism.
They both come from a background of Ashtanga Vinyasa yoga studying with teachers like Richard Freeman and ChucK Miller. Through their influence, Sara and Guy’s approach is moving beyond physical practice and refining the relationship between body and mind. Increasingly they are spending time in meditation and mindfulness retreats, bringing the wisdom gained from this back into their yoga teaching.
