1.Strengthen and stabilize your core
Working towards a general understanding of the concept of core strength in Yoga asana woven into a workshop/class format.
Also integrating movements conducive to stabilizing the spine, deep core, as well as exploring range of motion.
As a template we use intermediate yoga asanas therefore basic understanding of yoga asana required.
2. Full spectrum practice
Using props and wall to safely approach some of the more common balancing forms, backbends and inversions with a sense of in depth knowledge of the component parts associated with such movements.
Strength and stability is a staple rather than the depth of the forms.
Always allowing each practitioner to individually explore and gain a sense of understanding as per limitations of physical body or mind as well as patterns associated with samskaras.
3. Moving in stillness
Allowing the more subtle concepts of a physical asana practice to gain ground by focusing on breath.
A led class format with emphasis on the two patterns of breath, Prana and Apana, correlating with the movements and actions of the physical body.
As we deepen our understanding of the breath as the connection between body and mind slowly a more meditative aspect of the practice unfolds.
