David Fredriksson

David Fredriksson is one of Sweden’s most experienced Ashtanga yoga teachers and a dedicated teacher of meditation and breathwork.

His journey began in 1993, when western medicine and physical therapy failed to resolve a foot injury — and when insomnia and difficulty concentrating led him to search for answers beyond conventional methods. That search brought him to Hatha yoga, and he immediately felt its profound effects.

Yoga healed him physically, but what struck him most was the deep, lasting clarity and well-being it brought, unlike anything he had known before.

David began practicing Ashtanga yoga in 2006, and in 2008 he travelled to Mysore, India, to study under the late R. Sharath Jois — a commitment he renewed every year.
He received his Level 1 Authorization to teach in January 2011.

Over time, meditation and breathwork became a natural extension of his teaching, deepening both his own experience and what he offers his students.

Based in Stockholm, David runs the Mysore program at Yogayama Östermalm alongside his partner Laruga Glaser, and is regularly invited to lead workshops and retreats all over the world.

David believes every student, regardless of background, deserves a space to explore who they are and grow through this transformative practice. He warmly invites all who feel inspired to walk this path with him.
