Jamine Hedlund

My way into yoga began when life as a young adult started to feel overwhelming. I noticed the impact of stress on my sleep, my thoughts and my emotional life. At some point I understood that I needed something to help me ground myself.I had always been fascinated by Eastern culture, so it felt natural that I was first drawn to it and its traditional medicine.I eventually found my way to Ashtanga Yoga and later on to Ayurveda. This became the beginning of my journey.Education and Experience

My background and studies include:

  • Apprenticeship Program in Ashtanga Yoga at Yogayama (2013–2015) with Laruga Glaser.
  • Studies in Mysore, India. Deepening my understanding of the practice of Ashtanga Yoga under R. Sharath Jois
  • Ayurveda, certification at the Scandinavian Ayurveda Academy (2013–2015) and further studies in Ahmedabad, India

What can students expect?:

  • Individual guidance
  • A clear but gentle structure
  • Focus on breath and stability

My intention is for the practice to feel sustainable, to be long-term and feel supportive. The practice can be seen as a process that unfolds naturally overtime through both discipline and softness.

My background in Ayurveda often gives me a broader perspective on practice and lifestyle. I integrate Ayurvedic principles especially regarding balance, seasonal shifts, and how we can support ourselves in everyday life.

Yogayama has been my yoga community for many years – first as a student and later as a teacher. I have practiced here since the Mysore program first began and it (the mysore program) has been, and continues to be, a place that supports my growth.
