Special designed postures (asanas) to facilitate pregnancy and to prepare the mother for childbirth. Meditation practices help with increased focus, inner calmness, and with connecting to the baby. Recommended from around week 15 onward.
The Pregnancy Yoga at Yogayama is truly unique. Practicing in the Khalsa Way (originated from Gurumukh Khalsa, Golden Bridge Yoga, Los Angeles), all exercises are specifically designed to cater to the pregnant body, no matter what week you are in. Exercises are safe and promote an overall well-being and relaxation.
Classes are inspired from the Kundalini and Hatha yoga traditions and also incorporate flowing/dancing movements to create lightness and joy. We work on stretching and strengthening the legs which carry all the weight during pregnancy, and with rolling movements creating space inside the body for the baby as well as for the mommy. We take time to connect with the baby, in form of guided relaxations and meditations. Many of these poses are preparatory and can be used during the labor.
